Why we exist
A parking appeal can be written as a plea — explaining why someone was running late, or that they only stopped for a minute, and asking the council to be lenient. That approach may not engage the actual grounds on which a fine can be cancelled.
Beat It was built on the opposite idea. A parking fine is a legal process, and legal processes have rules the issuer has to follow — deadlines for serving notices, wording that has to appear on the ticket, signs and lines that have to be correct and lawful. When the issuer gets one of those wrong, the fine can fall. We find those errors and build your appeal around them.
How we do it
You scan your ticket or type in the details. Our system reads it, checks it against a large, continually-maintained database of documented appeal grounds, and tells you in plain words whether it finds grounds to challenge. If there are grounds, it writes a formal appeal in the correct structure for your authority, for you to check and send.
We do not invent circumstances or fabricate evidence; we surface the genuine procedural and legal grounds that apply to your specific ticket.
What we are — and what we are not
Beat It is a form-filling and sending service. We prepare the paperwork from what you tell us and the documents you give us. You check it and tap send. Where we can send it (by email, or through the council’s own website), we send it in your name, on your instruction. Where we can’t (for example a council that only takes post), we prepare it for you to send. We don’t argue the case as your representative, and we don’t give legal advice. At an independent tribunal you register and submit the appeal yourself; we prepare it.
We are not a law firm. The decision to appeal, and the facts you provide, remain yours.
We are honest about outcomes. No one can guarantee a parking appeal will succeed, and we do not. Our job is simply to make sure that when you have a winnable case, it is identified and argued properly — rather than paid by default. If your scan shows there are no real grounds, we tell you that too.
Where we operate
Beat It covers tickets issued in England and Wales. We handle council and private Penalty Charge Notices, bus-lane and moving-traffic contraventions, and clean-air and congestion charges. We don't currently take tickets from Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or the United States.
What we don't cover (yet)
Beat It is for parking and traffic penalties. We can't help with criminal driving matters that go to court (speeding and Notices of Intended Prosecution, driving with no insurance, drink- or drug-driving), MOT or vehicle-tax (VED) enforcement, or non-traffic Fixed Penalty Notices such as littering, fly-tipping, dog fouling, fare evasion or TV-licence penalties. If you scan one of these, we tell you straight away — and we don't charge you for it.
Our principles
- Honesty over hype. A free scan tells you honestly what it finds, even when it finds no strong legal flaw.
- You stay in control. Nothing is ever sent to a council without you confirming it first.
- You only pay a success fee if you win.
